"Mom, we got to ride in Zanya's dad's car. It's white. It can go up hills and mountains. But our dad has a racecar."
I'm wondering if we will ever have an electrical fire. We have 2 two year olds who love to push their chairs to every light switch in the house and turn the lights and fans onoffonoffonoffonoffonoffonoff.
We usually have to have every fan and light on in the house thanks to Annie.
Dear Aunt Katie and Grandma,
You might not be getting your books back anytime soon. Leta eats, breathes and sleeps with them.
On Sunday I must have been in the zone, because in primary I had 2 boys kicking each other and I didn't even notice. Finally another teacher had to stop them. I was so focused on singing time. My inability to focus on several things at once has sunk to an embarrassing level. Sometimes by the end of the day Lucy and Elsa have to repeat themselves several times before it sinks in what they are asking of me.

I have 1 T.V. show that I currently take the time to sit and watch on our computer: Design Star. With the latest episode each designer got to decorate a room in a family of 4's home. 2 designers in this competition are mothers and they thought it was ironic that they were chosen to decorate a room for each of the 2 boys in the family. After the show I thought, "Are these designer mother's clueless?" Okay, that's a little mean, but...in the room of the 2 year old there was a huge top heavy floor lamp. Maybe that particular 2 year old is different than mine, but there are no floor lamps in our home for a reason, especially in their room with their toys. And his curtains were hung out on a hula-hoop. Fun concept but the way they did it, it would take Leta and Annie about 2 seconds to pull them down. In the 6 year old's room they built a custom bed for him. Basically it looked like they put a mattress on a table. No rails or anything. Would you let your child sleep that elevated without any sort of side stopage? Talk about hoping they have medical insurance for the broken bones.
I LOVE to decorate (though right now I would say, I love to dream of decorating). But I am often baffled at what some people consider "kid-friendly."
I love having Lucy and Elsa in kindergarten. All these years I was trying to figure out how "other" moms do it. How do they seem to not have their house explode everyday and how they could actually get things done....I felt like I was racing every day and still coming up far short. Then Lucy and Elsa started school and I figured out that the secret to success is having school aged kids. When I'm bummed that I didn't get everything done in my special 3 hours of 1/2 kid time, I almost have to pinch myself to remember that I get that time tomorrow and the next day and the next day.... It's so neat. Before it was maybe once a week or every other week that I would have 1/2 kid time. Now it's everyday. I love that Leta and Annie get me in the mornings and Lucy and Elsa get me in the afternoons when Leta and Annie are sleeping. I'm loving our new season in life. Though I kind of stink at making sure these papers that I think are homework actually get done.
Really, I don't think I can fully explain how different things are now. I'm still so so exhausted every night, Leta and Annie are still very very demanding, but...I feel like I can breath a little during the day now. I hope I never forget how crazy things were for a few years due to my awesome 4 kids in 3 years policy.
I think I might have to plant a few trees in memory of the ones that will die this year in order to supply Lucy and Elsa's learning.
Lucy and Elsa are growing up. They now prefer showers over bath time.
Dear World,
According to Leta and Annie, everything belongs to them. Sorry.
"MINE!!!!"
Does anyone have a device that records the decibel level of a noise? I think I need to record Leta's screaming talent.
And somehow Hobbes still purrs a lot. He seems to like us, even if I try to take a sweet picture and instead get Annie pulling his tail. Hopefully he still likes us after Thursday when we take him to get snipped.
